Twleve people showed up for the Fall 2008 Benthic Inventory of Biological Integrity (BIBI) monitoring event. Two teams collected the 12 standard samples on McAleer and Lyon creeks. A little excitement for the McAleer team: "As we were walking away from the Animal Acres site, we heard a loud crack, and turned back to see a tree falling accross the stream...in the exact spot where we had just finished collecting the third replicate. It was a dead alder, about 12 in. diameter. A very light wind was just starting. At the next site we scrutinized the trees carefully before settling in!"
